Matcha is versatile, flavorful, and packs a punch when it comes to both caffeine and antioxidants. Here are a few of our favorite matcha recipes, including everything from lattes to baked goods and more!
1. Matcha Sunrise Mocktail

Matcha Sunrise ingredients
- 1 tsp culinary grade matcha
- 1/4 cup hot water at 180º F
- 1 cup fresh squeezed orange juice
- Ice cubes
Preparation instructions
- Sift matcha into a matcha bowl and add hot water.
- Whisk with a bamboo whisker until smooth.
- Add in ice to a tall glass, pour in orange juice and top with matcha.
- Enjoy!
2. Matcha Coconut Bites

Matcha Coconut Bites ingredients
- 1 cup sweetened shredded coconut
- 1/3 cup almond butter
- 1 tsp culinary grade matcha
- 1 tsp coconut oil
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/3 cup dark chocolate chips
Preparation instructions
- Add all the ingredients into a food processor. Process until everything sticks together.
- In an ice cube silicone mold add one teaspoon of the mixture into each square, pressing firmly. Freeze for an hour.
- Take matcha bites out of the silicon mold.
- Melt chocolate chips in the microwave. Coat matcha bites with melted chocolate and place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Refrigerate until set, then enjoy!
3. Matcha Mango Smoothie Bowl

Smoothie ingredients
- 1 cup frozen mango chunks
- 1 banana, frozen
- 1/2 inch ginger, raw root
- 1 inch turmeric, raw root
- 1 cup fresh spinach
- 1/3 cup coconut yogurt
- 1/2 cup milk of your choice
- 2 tsp Culinary Grade Matcha
Toppings
- Fresh berries
- Fresh mango
- Fresh kiwi
- Coconut flakes
- Hemp seeds
- Roasted almonds
Preparation instructions
- Add all smoothie ingredients to a blender and blend until smooth.
- Pour the smoothie into a bowl and top with berries, mango, kiwi, coconut flakes, hemp seeds and roasted almonds.
- Enjoy!
4. Peppermint Matcha Latte

Peppermint Matcha Latte ingredients
- 1 tsp Culinary Grade Matcha
- 4 oz peppermint tea, brewed
- 1 tsp maple syrup
- 1 cup steamed milk of your choice
Preparation instructions
- In a matcha bowl (or a small bowl), whisk together culinary matcha and hot brewed peppermint tea with a matcha whisk until smooth and foamy.
- Add in the maple syrup and mix until combined.
- Transfer the matcha mixture into a mug.
- In a frothing pitcher, steam the milk and froth with a hand frother.
- Slowly pour this into the mug with the matcha mixture.
- Enjoy!
5. Matcha Cucumber Refresher

Ingredients
- 1/2 cucumber
- 1/2 cup honeydew melon
- 10 mint leaves
- Juice of a lime
- 1 tsp Culinary Grade Matcha
- 6 oz filtered water
- 1 tbsp agave syrup
Preparation instructions
- Into a blender, add all of the ingredients and blend until smooth.
- Pour the mixture through a strainer and discard the pulp.
- Serve over ice.
6. Matcha Bomb

Ingredients
For the bomb:
- 1/4 cup white chocolate
- 1/4 tsp Culinary Grade Matcha
For the filling:
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1 tsp coconut milk powder
- 1 scoop matcha powder
- 1/8 tsp ground cinnamon
- Pinch of cardamom powder
- Marshmallows
- Heart sprinkles
Instructions
- For the filling, mix together the first 5 ingredients and set aside.
- Melt white chocolate in a double boiler or in the microwave for 15 seconds or until melted. Add matcha powder to the melted chocolate and mix well.
- Using the back of a spoon, spread the chocolate mixture all over the cavity of two silicone molds. Place the molds in the freezer for 5 minutes or until the shells are fully set. Repeat this step until you get a thick shell.
- Once the chocolate is set, carefully remove chocolate shells from the molds.
- Heat a plate in the microwave for 30 seconds. Press one of the empty chocolate shells on the heated plate to remove the rough edges.
- Fill the shell with filling mixture along with the marshmallows and heart sprinkles.
- Melt the edges on the other chocolate shell and immediately stick the two halves together. Press slightly until sealed.
- Put a dot of melted chocolate on top of the chocolate bomb and attach a heart sprinkle.
- To serve, place the matcha bomb into a mug, slowly pour the hot milk over the bomb until melted. Enjoy!
7. Matcha Horchata

Ingredients
For the horchata:
- 1/2 cup rice, rinsed
- 1 1/2 cup water
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 2 cups almond milk, unsweetened
- 1 cup oat milk, unsweetened
- 1/3 cup coconut sugar
- 1/4 tsp vanilla extract
For the tea:
- 4 oz hot water
- 1 tsp Culinary Grade Matcha
Instructions
- Soak 1/2 cup rice, 1 1/2 cup water, and 1 cinnamon stick overnight.
- Place horchata ingredients in a blender. Blend until smooth.
- Strain and transfer horchata to a pitcher.
- Place the matcha in a small bowl and cover with the hot water.
- Whisk until smooth, then let it cool.
- Fill a glass with ice and pour in the horchata until 3/4 of the glass is full.
- Top off with matcha.
8. Matcha Mango Smoothie

Ingredients
- 1 mango, peeled and diced
- 1 banana, frozen
- 1 tsp fresh ginger, grated
- 1 tsp fresh turmeric, grated
- 1 cup fresh spinach
- 1/3 cup almond yogurt
- 1 cup almond milk
- 2 tsp culinary grade matcha
Instructions
- Add all ingredients to a blender and blend until smooth and creamy.
- Enjoy!
9. Iced Matcha Latte
A classic for a reason! Creamy, sweet, and a little grassy, with enough caffeine to give you a boost and without any of the jitters of coffee.
Iced Matcha Latte ingredients
- Culinary Grade Matcha
- Milk (whole, or plant-based milk of your choice)
- Ice
- Sweetener to taste, we recommend maple syrup or raspberry simple syrup (pictured)
Instructions
- Fill a tall glass 3/4 of the way with milk. Sift approximately a teaspoon of matcha powder into the glass using a matcha sifter.
- Using a handheld milk frother, froth until matcha is uniformly blended.
- Add sweetener to taste.
- Add ice to fill the glass.
- Enjoy!
10. Halloween Matcha Latte
Make this spook-tacular matcha latte this halloween season, featuring purple sweet potato cold foam!
Ingredients
- Ice cubes
- Almond milk
- 1 tsp matcha powder
- 1/4 cup hot water
- 1 tbsp purple sweet potato syrup
For syrup:
- 1 purple sweet potato, peeled and set into small pieces
- 2 cups water
- 1/3 cup maple syrup
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon, ground
- 1/2 tsp ginger, ground
- 1/4 tsp cloves, ground
- 1/4 tsp nutmeg, ground
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
Preparation instructions
- Add all the syrup ingredients into a medium saucepan at medium heat. Stir until well combined.
- Lower the heat and cook until sweet potatoes are soft.
- Remove from heat and strain the sweet potatoes and save the syrup for the latte. Cool completely.
- Whisk matcha powder and water until smooth, set aside.
- To make the purple frothed milk, warm 1/4 cup almond milk, add 1 tbsp purple sweet potato syrup, and froth until foamy.
- To assemble the latte, add some ice into a glass and pour the milk on top. Add in whisked matcha and stir. Top with sweet potato foam.
11. Matcha White Hot Chocolate
This cozy latte combines matcha and white chocolate. Perfect for sipping on a snowy afternoon!
Ingredients
- 2 cups whole or almond milk
- 1/3 cup white chocolate chips
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 tsp culinary grade matcha powder
- 5 oz warm water
Vanilla whipped cream:
- 1 cup whipping cream
- 2 tbsp powdered sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Preparation instructions
- Add milk, white chocolate, and vanilla extract to a small saucepan over low heat.
- Simmer until the chocolate is melted.
- Whisk matcha with warm water, and mix into the white hot chocolate.
- At high speed, whip together the cream with powdered sugar and vanilla extract, until soft peaks form.
- Serve hot white chocolate matcha in a mug and top with vanilla whipped cream, dust with matcha powder.
12. Matcha Panna Cotta
Combining two great things to make one delicious dessert.
Ingredients
For panna cotta:
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream
- 1/2 cup whole or almond milk
- 1/4 cup maple syrup
- 1 1/2 to 2 tsp culinary grade matcha powder
- 1 tsp cornstarch
- 1/2 tsp agar agar
- 1/2 vanilla bean pod
For raspberry sauce:
- 1 cup fresh raspberries, rinsed and patted dry
- 2 tsp maple syrup
- 1/2 tsp lemon juice
For vanilla whipping cream:
- 1/2 cup whipping cream
- 2 tsp maple syrup
- 1/4 tsp vanilla extract
For garnish:
- Raspberry sauce
- Matcha powder
- Vanilla whipping cream
- Cacao nibs
Preparation instructions

Place almond/cashew milk, maple syrup, matcha powder, cornstarch, and agar agar in a blender; process until smooth.

Cut the vanilla bean lengthwise, and remove seeds.

Add heavy whipping cream to a small saucepan along with the vanilla seeds and the empty vanilla pod.
- Pour in the matcha milk mixture and cook at low heat until simmering.

Turn off the heat and remove the vanilla pod.

Divide the mixture between 7 small silicone molds, previously coated with coconut oil for easier release of the panna cotta. Let it chill in the refrigerator for at least 3 hours.

Meanwhile, place raspberries, maple syrup, and lemon juice in a food processor and process until smooth. Sieve the raspberry sauce to remove the seeds. Reserve in the fridge until it is ready to serve.

In a small bowl, whip the cream with the maple syrup and vanilla extract at high speed until soft peaks form. Place whipping cream in the fridge.
- Place the silicone mold over hot water for a few seconds. Invert the mold onto the center of a dessert plate, and shake gently to release the panna cotta.
- Serve with raspberry sauce on the side and garnish with matcha powder, vanilla whipping cream, and cacao nibs.
13. Strawberry Matcha Latte
Strawberry matcha lattes are all the rage this strawberry season. Vibrant green and vegetal matcha combines with sweet pink strawberry for a fruity iced latte that's full of flavor!
Ingredients
For the matcha:
- 1 tsp culinary grade matcha
- 2 oz hot water at 180°F
- 1/4 cup whole milk or almond milk
Strawberry coulis:
- 2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and diced
- 2 tbsp maple syrup
- 1 tsp lemon juice
To serve:
- 3/4 cup whole milk or almond milk
- Ice cubes
Preparation instructions
For the strawberry coulis:
- In a small saucepan add strawberries, maple syrup, and lemon juice.
- Cook at medium-low heat until soft.
- Strain the puree and cool completely.
For matcha:
- In a matcha bowl, sift matcha, add hot water, and whisk until frothy.
- Pour in the milk and froth until doubled in size with a hand milk frother.
Assemble the matcha latte:
- Place 3 tablespoons of the strawberry coulis in a small glass and add milk.
- Mix well with a hand frother.
- Add ice cubes and top with matcha.
- Adjust the sweetness to your liking.
14. Earl Grey Matcha Latte with Pecan Milk
This fun twist on a matcha latte is flavored with pecans and bergamot black tea.
Ingredients
Earl Grey pecan milk:
- 1 cup roasted pecans
- 1/4 cup of cashews
- 3 medjool dates, seeded
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1 pinch of salt
- 4 cups brewed Earl Grey tea, cooled to room temperature
Matcha:
- 1 tsp culinary grade matcha powder
- 3 oz hot water
- Ice cubes
Preparation instructions
- Place pecans, cashews, dates, vanilla extract, cinnamon, salt, and brewed tea in a milk maker.
- Blend until smooth.
- Whisk matcha with hot water.
- Place ice cubes in a glass, add Earl Grey milk, and top with whisked matcha.
15. Dalgona Matcha
This fluffy, delicious matcha concoction was all the rage a few years ago, and we still think it’s pretty great!
Here’s how to make it:
Ingredients
- 3/4 cup heavy cream or vegan heavy cream
- 1 tbsp whole or almond milk
- 1 tbsp maple syrup
- 2 tsp culinary grade matcha powder
Preparation instructions
- Add cream, milk, maple syrup, and matcha powder to a small bowl.
- Using a handheld frother, mix everything until fluffy.
- Fill a glass with ice cubes and almond milk.
- Top with some fluffy dalgona matcha!
