Many of our customers have recently asked how the new global tariffs are affecting our business. As the owner and founder of ArtfulTea, I wanted to personally offer an update. There is still a lot of confusion surrounding tariffs, and things seem to change almost daily, but we are doing our best to stay informed and to make decisions that will minimize the impact, both for our business and our customers.
Since the United States is not a tea-growing nation, nearly all of what we sell is sourced internationally, and is therefore subject to tariff. Depending on the country of origin, tariffs on tea can vary widely.
Some of our suppliers are currently covering a portion of the new tariffs, but for the most part the added cost is being passed on as an increase in the price we pay for tea. As you probably know, ArtfulTea is a small, independent business with a tiny yet dedicated team of employees. We've proudly served our customers for more than 17 years, and hope to do so for many more years to come. We are committed to providing a quality product at the best possible value. Even so, you can expect to see an increase in the price of many of our teas in the coming weeks and months.
