Chimayo Chai Black Tea
Chimayo Chai Black Tea
When you’re in New Mexico, you quickly learn that chile is part of the culture here. Our Chimayo Chai honors that tradition by including just enough crushed red chile flakes in our chai tea to add the right amount of heat! Enjoy it in the classic way as a sweet, milky chai—or, if you’re brave, try it straight for a fiery cup.
Cups Per Package
This tea is carefully blended and packaged by hand in a reusable tin or a resealable kraft bag. Our 4 oz. tin or kraft bag makes approximately 35 - 40 cups of tea. Our 8 oz. kraft bag makes approximately 70 - 80 cups.
Ingredients
Black tea, crushed red chile peppers, cinnamon bark, cardamom, ginger root, cloves, natural cinnamon flavor.
Tasting Notes
Bold and spicy, with notes of cinnamon and clove and a lingering heat.
How To Brew Chimayo Chai
Use 1 heaping teaspoon per 6 oz. water. Heat water to boiling. Steep for 4 to 5 minutes.
We recommend preparing Chimayo Chai using a teapot, tea infuser, or tea filter. These brewing methods result in a richer, more flavorful cup.
Chimayo Chai Caffeine Content
Black tea contains a moderate amount of caffeine, less than half as much as coffee per cup.
Chimayo Chai Benefits
Black tea boosts energy and is a lower-caffeine alternative to coffee.
Ginger helps to soothe nausea and aid digestion.
Cinnamon supports the immune system and helps with focus.
